Curriculum We offer a varied curriculum within all classrooms which includes art, music, reading, writing, outdoor play, science, field trips & summer camp programs.  As we  value learning through play children are provided with developmentally appropriate learning materials which are incorporated into daily activities.  Below is an example of a common “learning through play” activity and the many concepts children learn. Monthly Chef’s Circle; each class offers a monthly cooking class! Baking is fun and rewarding!  This play based activity teaches... Reading & writing (read the recipe & make a shopping list) Math (measurement) Science (mixing ingredients to create, children can plan and hypothesize about what they will make) Life Skills (studies show that children who develop certain skills early on excel in those areas later in life) Fine motor skills development (pouring, mixing etc) Healthy eating (talking about diet, nutrition etc) Hygiene practices (washing hands, cleaning food etc) and so much more!! On site facilities Our centres are bright, spacious with lots of natural light! The walls are painted with animated characters.  Crystal-plex covers the lower half of the walls.  This is an easy to clean surface which helps to minimize the spread of infection.   We have 2 on site playgrounds which feature climbing structures with a rubberized surfacing underneath for added safety and comfort.  There are circular bike paths for children to build various gross motor skills on varied riding equipment including tricycles, bikes, scooters and push cars.  Synthetic grass has been installed on all other surfaces in our playgrounds.  This ensures soft, clean play year round! Often children will go off site to local trails, parks & splash pads for various learning experiences. Daycare Vehicles Our daycare vehicles provide children with a safe method of transportation to and from school.  We provide safe transportation to and from the following local schools; Falgarwood PS, Sheridan PS, Holy Family Catholic Elementry, Joshua Creek PS, St Andrew’s Catholic Elementry School and St Margueritte D’Youville. These vehicles are inspected regularly by a licensed mechanic & serviced as needed. They are also equipped with booster seats as well as car seats. Menu All children in our care are provided with healthy meals which are altered as needed for allergies or food restrictions. Lunches are catered by Boaden Catering.  The meals are hot, well balanced and nutritious! Whole grains, trans fat free, fresh local produce and cooked fresh daily!  Truly the healthiest and tastiest menu for growing children. Quality First This is a quality early learning initiative in Halton which daycares participate in a developmental model for quality improvement. The Quality First developmental model is based on Training in use of the evaluation tools, support in the use of this tool & professional development, training & support for the development of new skills and knowledge by ECE’s.
