Welcome     About Us     Programs     Kids & Community     Testimonials     Our Team     Contact Us    Here we grow again Programs Toddlers: age 15 months - 2.5 years  Ratio 1:5  Class Size 15 children Our little toddlers are cared for in a safe, tender, loving environment.  Our Staff work with parents to minimize separation anxiety and helping each child develop positive relationships with staff and each other. Toddlers love their daily buggy rides as well as outdoor time in our Toddler Play area.  In class, they participate in a circle time.  This includes a story,  singing songs, checking the weather & playing games.  Toddlers also enjoy sensory activities, block play, dramatic play, creative art but most of all, socializing with each other. Their classroom contains a variety of materials which build on the development of their various motor skills.  The washroom is attached to the classroom and in addition to a change table there are two miniature toilets for  any children who are ready for potty training. Juniors: age 2.5 years - 3.8 years Ratio 1:8 Class Size 24 children Preschoolers are our busiest age group with so much growth and development in this stage, they are so eager to learn!  Our staff work with Preschool children to touch, taste, smell, hear and test things for themselves.  Teachers support the children as they learn by experiencing & doing.  The staff programming guides the children in learning through play with activities which are developmentally appropriate. The class has two hours of outdoor time to help burn some energy as well as develop those gross motor skills.  In class, the children have a circle time where they read, sing, talk about letters, numbers,shapes & colours and much more!  The Juniors do participate in a mini phonics program as well as French instruction to help prepare them for school entry.  Seniors:     age 3.8-5 years     Ratio 1:10     Class Size 20 children If three is the age for doing, then four is the age for finding out! “why?” being their favourite word.  Our staff create a space that encourages exploration and development of the imagination through dramatic play, storybooks, props, and art materials. They encourage appropriate ways of socializing and resolving conflict.  This age benefits from opportunities to explore and create and see their minds evolving through play. Our Senior Program also offers more structure for children while challenging them developmentally.  This class uses Jolly Phonics to teach letter and sound recognition, followed by early reading skills.  The children complete daily worksheets to practice printing the “letter of the week” as well as their names.   They participate in a weekly french lesson which focuses on basic language (numbers, basic words etc)  Through creative learning methods, our teachers implement a fun and engaging curriculum for the children to learn effectively and reinforce what they are learning at school. Kinders: age 5 years Ratio 1:12 Class size 12 Children Five-year-olds are cheerful, energetic and enthusiastic.  They are best as planners.  they enjoy planning and spend a great deal of time discussing who will do what.  They especially enjoy dramatic play, usually with other children.  sharing and turn taking is less difficult as “best friends” become very important. This room provides a Kindergarten program that reflects the elementary school curriculum.  It provides the children with a daily customized schedule involving small group sizes and individualized attention.  Continued use of the Jolly Phonics program, French and other academic programming give each child an advantage by preparing him or her for Grade One. School Age   age 6-9 years    Ratio 1:15     Class Size: 15 children Our Before and After School program offers children a safe environment before and after school hours, PA days and other school breaks.  Parents can rely on a safe method of transportation to & from local elementary schools. We also provide a Before only program.  
Each child is given healthy snacks before and after school, help with homework, fun programming, outdoor activities and opportunities to make new friends. This is a year round program which offers Before & After school care from September to June, in addition to care on PA days.  In the summer months the program shifts into a fun and exciting camp program! This includes fun trips within the community, eco adventures & fun recreational outings.  Nursery School age 2.5 - 4 years Ratio 1:8 Class Size: 8 Children Our Nursery Program provides a fun and educational environment for preschool children.  This class is offered 9-12pm daily, during the school year and closes during school breaks.  The small group setting allows for additional attention from the teacher as well as an easier transition towards Kindergarten.  Children are prepared for Kindergarten by participating in a morning circle, arts and craft activities, learning about concepts such as shapes, colours, number and letter recognition.  They also practise printing their names, letters and participate in weekly French instruction. copyright Little Kids Daycare Click here for French Program details
